I want to become a Social Worker. Right now, I am studying in 12th standard with Humanities stream in J&K Board. But after completing my 12th, kindly let me know how I can become a Social Worker? Please help me to know about this asap. Thank you!

The steps to become a social worker include specific education and experience and you may need to get licensed.

1. Earn Social Work degree though programs in psychology, Sociology, and social welfare may be sufficient to get a job as a social worker.
Pursue Bachelor of Social Work course and Master of Social Work afterwards.

2. A degree program stablished technical social worker qualifications you will need for the job, but you will need actual supervised experience in the field to help you build the additional skills.
The qualities necessary fall into psychology, Sociology and educational categories and include:
-effective verbal and written communication
-active licensing
-compassion, tolerance, and empathy
-critical thinking and emotional intelligence
-social perceptiveness and advocacy

3. To become a licensed social worker, you will need to meet the educational and experiential requirements and pass a test. To maintain Social Work licence, most States require 15 to 48 hours of continuing education relevant to the field, including practical training experience.
