Dear Sir, I am Sonu Parihar and I am studying 10th Class from Mathura. I have no Idea about the procedure to take admission in BHU. So please tell me the procedure to get admission in Banaras Hindu University.

To, get the admission in the BHU candidates have to appear and qualify in SET conducted by BHU.

The eligibility to appear for examination is :-

Candidate must have passed 10th from any recognised board.

Candidate's age must be maximum of 18 years as on September 30 of year of appearing for examination.

Candidate must have minimum 50%, 40% and passed 10th for those who want to get admission in Science, Commerce and Arts.

Yes, if you are pursuing in 10th and aspire for getting the admission in Banars Hindu University after 10th then you have to appear and qualify in SET examination.

The eligibility to appear for examination varies for admission in different stream as for admission to science stream candidate must have minimum 50% and for commerce stream is 40% where there is no minimum requirement for Arts.

Admission in Higher Secondary School in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) are offered through School Entrance Test (S.E.T) conducted by BHU in the month of May every year. To appear in S.E.T examination, you have to apply by obtaining the application form from BHU in the month of April. If you qualify the examination and you are in the merit list of the candidates of the entrance test, you can get admission in BHU after completion of your 10th standard.

BHU stands for Banaras Hindu University and it is one of the Central Universities of India known for giving providing quality education in various undergraduate and post graduate courses. Also, it manages a school known as CHS ( Central Hindu School ) which is a CBSE affiliated school upto Class 12th.

As far as you are concerned about taking admission in the CHS for your higher secondary degree so you will have to appear and qualify the SET ( School Entrance Test ) held once every year in the mid of May by BHU for which the application forms are made available online by the last of February lasting till the mid or last of March.

For appearing in the same examination for admission in the Class 11th, you must have completed your Class 10th with a minimum of 50% aggregate ( relaxation of 5% is applicable for reserved category candidates ) from a recognized board.
