It is not possible to join NASA directly after Mechanical engineering in India. If you had done engineering in the field of aerospace, aeronautical or earth sciences, then there would have been some chances. However, there is nothing to worry. You can join NASA in the following way.

- Crack the entrance exam conducted by ISRO every year to get employment opportunity in ISRO as junior research fellow.
- Do good service for few years in ISRO.
- Take up research in your interested field and do good research.
- You can find opportunities in NASA after few years of good service in NASA and good research work.
