I have given gate 2016 computer science paper. I am expecting around 40 marks. With this much marks how much rank could i get.?
Is it possible to get iit's or any best NIT's.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Frankly speaking, it is not possible to predict exact rank of GATE exam on basis of your expected marks. Even results and ran card predicted by most of rank predictor is not reliable. You must wait for GATE results to be declared.

From past year trends, one thing is clear that if you belong to OBC or SC/ST category, chances of getting admission in NITs for M.Tech is good. For general category, chances are less on basis of 40 marks.

GATE is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is the entrance examination which is conducted every year for the selection of candidates in the M.Tech programs and with the 40 marks you can not get seat in the IIT or NIT with this score.

Here there are some results for the GATE 2016 examination and if you get below 500 rank then you can expect to get the seat in the IIT and NIT institutes otherwise you can not get in to the IIT and NIT institutes with less scores.

These are some of the ranking criteria which is available for GATE 2016

as you have scored 40 marks you will be getting rank around 3000 and according to that rank you will not get seat in NIT or IIT you should get below 500 rank in order to get seat in the IIT and NIT

Although 40 marks in GATE is quite good. But your subject is computer science and the competition in this stream is usually very cut0-throat. So it will be difficult to get IIT or even the top NIT's with this marks. Still you can keep an eye on the spot round admissions in NITs.

However you can try your luck in the state government engineering colleges which provides good placement and a proper stipend per month. With this marks you can also get any of the top rung private institutions as well.

• IISc Bangalore- 50-60 Rank
• IITB- 100 Rank
• IITK- 400 Rank
• IITM- 150-170 Rank
• IITD- 100 Rank
• IITKgp- 140 Rank
