The first thing I would like to let you know is that the minimum education required for appearing in the Civil Services examination (often known as UPSC examination) is a a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Further, as far as you are concerned about the compulsion of Mathematics as a main subject in academics for appearing in the UPSC examination then there is no such requirement for any subject at any level of academics.

For complete details regarding the Civil Services examination eligibility conditions as well as syllabus, you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in .

However, you will have to face Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning questions that are based 10th standard Mathematics. The difficulty level of these questions would be higher.

Actually, UPSC Civil Services Exam contain three stages to qualify i.e.
