sir i am chemical engineer for preparation psu examination ? so detail all psu exam held which month or date approximate.

i am a BE final year student with branch computer science. so what is the advantage of PSU exam for me.

(a) Throughout the year.
(b) Entrance exam of different PSUs are held at different times during the year.
(c) Peak duration during which maximum exams occur - May-Sept.

Hi

PSU are the Public Sector Union Companies which function under the government of India.
Now till last year, all these PSU's used to conduct their own respective examinations for the recruitment of fresh engineers from all across the country.

But from this year, i.e 2011, it has been decided by most of the PSU's that they would recruit through the GATE score and rank.

GATE - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

GATE is the entrance exam which is conducted by the joint IIT's and IIM's to select candidates for the M.Tech programs in the IIT's, NIT's, BITS, and other good colleges all across the country.

Eligibility for the GATE :

1. A candidate should be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharmacy to be eligible to sit for this exam.

2. A minimum 60% is required in graduation and 10% is relaxed for the SC/ST/OBC.

3. No age or attempts limits are put for the exam.

Whichever PSU you want to go into, you must sit for the GATE exam, and score the best you can in this exam.
