What is the difference between information technology and computer application technology?

Both are on and the same
mostly you will be concentrating on latest technologies in IT

But in computer application you will be knowing about latest computer architecture and its applications.

computer apllication is related to computer programs while IT is related to infrasture used to support those applications.
