As you know TCS is one of the software giant companies which is based on Computers and Software... So as a Mechanical Engineer the things which they will expect from you in technical interview is as follows...


-> Interest to learn things which are based on software field.. and to explore in it...

-> Very basic of some computer languages like C which you must had the subject in your 1st year...

-> Good communication skill and technical knowledge....

-> And if the interviewer knows something about mechanical then for sure you will get some questions based on your core subjects too..

-> I have attached some of the model questions which might be asked from C language in this post for your reference.. just go through it once..

-> I have also attached a e-book which might help you for your interview preparation....

Being a student of Mechanical you can easily clear the interview of TCS if you prepare yourself in the following fields:
1. A decent communication skill is a must.
2. You should have a clear concepts in programming(at least in C).
3. You should have a very good knowledge in the subjects from your departmental background like-
(a) Strength of Material
(b) Theory of Machines
(c) Fluid Mechanics etc.
At least you should mention 2 subjects from your department in which you will be able to answer their questions.

Never think that for TCS interview you should study C,JAVA DATA STRUCTURE or CSE subjects.
Please prepare your Mechanical subjects very well.They will ask you whether you are strong or not in your area.
But you should prepare some languages as well.

if you are a mechanical engineer then please don't join TCS for the love of God!!!!
if you did not get a proper job at the end of your four years then try off campus opportunities or prepare for exams lie GATE or IES. Better be frustrated being unemployed than joining an organisation where you would have to lock away all the knowledge that you had acquired in the 4 prime years of your life.....

why sir you are saying that don't join tcs as a mechanical engineer

what is the answer to, "why you want to join a software company being a student of mechanical? "

the answer would include the points like tcs also have mechanical projects for which mechanical students are required and if not so the student could switch to it sector also.

I have been qualified for TCS interview ..I'm in the fine year of mechanical engineering. ..should I
go?

what to answer if tcs ask why you are willing to join a software company insread of core mechanical company?

Definitely they will ask about computer languages.
If you dont know anything about computer languages then just be frank and tell them you dont know. In counter they will ask you that if give a chance will you learn a new computer languag. In reply say yes. Your interview is clear. Your interview is clear. All the best.

may i know the important and freqently asked qestion in tcs technical round regarding mechnaical department

After working in TCS as Mechanical Engineering for 2 years can we shift to any top MNC. Whether there is available opportunities or not.

I don't have any project ,can I recruit in TCS I am final year mechanical engineering student with 70% aggregate
