I have completed my graduation and I am 21 years old.I know the criteria for application for the post of an officer through Cds.But what I want to know is how to apply as a soldier.I am only interested in the post as a Soldier and not an officer.What is the procedure for application?

Hello friend,
Since you are a graduate and within the age limit, I would suggest you join Indian Army as an officer rather then a soldier but since you want to join as an soldier, I will give you the necessary information:
Being a graduate, you will be eligible to join, no matter how much you scored in the qualifying exam. The maximum age limit to join as an soldier is 21 years.

* candidate need to apply for towards the notifications when they are released

*Then he must wait for the call,..or else you must submit your documents in the particular army campus as per the requirements

*then you will be getting the date for the written test and for the events like running 800 metres and 100 metres,long jump and high jumps,etc..

*you have to pass all the events or atleast 80% in all the events..

*Before you go to the events one should know whether he is eligible or not in the height,weight,chest etc...

*candidate should be passed 10th from any recognised Board

*candidate should be b/w 171/2 - 23 years

*candidate should be minimum 150cms of height.

*chest with an expansion of 5cms

Indian Army it is one of the wing of NDA.In NDA there has three wings i.e Inidian Army,Indian Navy,Indian Air Force.NDA exam is conducted every year in the months of April and August by UPSC.

Indian Army details:

Nationality:

Candidate should be citizen of India.

Education qualification:

Candidate should complete Secondary Education (12th standard) from any recognized state board of India.

Age limit:

candidate age limit is Minimum 16.5 years

Candidate age limit is Maximum 19 years.

There is no upper age relaxation.

***Only Unmarried Male Candidates are eligible to apply this exam.

Selection Process:

1.Written exam

2.Medical Test

3.Interview.
