I Sunaina at present resident at sangrur punjab. My study is from kurkshetra university BA, B ED, MA (ENGLLISH), MATRIC WITH PUNJABI want to know that i done a ba with english (compulsory). bed with english and ma english. Can i apply for Lecturer job of english for govt job.

Yes you can apply for the lecturer job in the government colleges since you have a post graduation qualification. You should attend the NET exam which is conducted by the UGC. The NET exam is mainly conducted for recruiting the eligible candidates in to the lecture post in UGC grant colleges. Based on the score you secure in the NET exam, you can apply for the lecture positions in government colleges which come about. The notifications will be published regarding this.

You certainly have the qualification to apply for the lectureship in government college. However to become lecturer you will have to pass the National Eligibility Test by the University Grants Commission.

Upon clearing the National Eligibility test you will become college lecturer. The NET exam is specificially conducted for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship.

The criteria for exam is post graduation degree which you are meeting. However there is also a percentage criteria which you should be able to meet. Unable to do so, you won't be allowed to sit for National Eligibility Test.

If everything is fine then you should wait for the official notification from UGC for the NET exam. It is conducted in June and December.


Eligibility

1. Nationality: Indian Nationals are the ones eligible.

2. Qualification: Post graduation degree in any discipline but from UGC recognized college.

3. Percentage: 55 percent are required for General and OBC.

4. Percentage (SC/ST): 50 percent or more marks are required.

5. Subject: English will be your subject for NET Exam.

6. Number of Appearences: No Limit

7. Age Limit (JRF): Maximum of 28 years.

8. Age Limit (OBC): 31 years to appear for JRF.

9. Age Limit (SC/ST): 33 years for JRF.

10. Age Limit (Lectureship): No Upper age limit.

Pls may I know if I hav 54% in MA part 1 so hw is it counted..percentage of both the years together b 55 n more or separate part 1 n part 2 percentage? ?

To become a Lecturer in Government college you have to qualify UGC NET.

For UGC NET you must have 55% marks in Post Graduation. If you are SC/ST category then 50% marks in required in Post Graduation.

So if you want to become a lecturer in Government colleges then you have to crack UGC NET.There is no age limit for it and you can apply for it if you have the qualification.

So you can start preparing for it according to the syllabus of UGC NET.

As you have B.Ed also means you can also apply for TET for becoming teacher in schools.

As you have mentioned that you have done master's degree in English ,so you satisfy the eligibility criteria for becoming lecturer in government colleges.

For becoming lecturer ,you will have to crack the National Eligibility test which is held every year twice by the University Grants Commission.

Basically it requires candidates with master's degree in any stream from a recognized university with at least 55% marks in master's degree .Final year post graduation candidates can also apply for the exam.

>>5% relaxation in marks is provided to obc and sc/st respectively.

There is no upper age limit for the lecturer post .You can apply for the exam at any age .

Note: The important dates for the June NET exam 2013 are already over ,so you must wait for the December NET 2013 .Till then do your preparation .

sir namaste i am janakee from delhi.i would like to enrolled for m phil from ignou .i have 54% marks in post graduation .if i will get m phil from ignou can i eligible for net/post of a lecturer.i am from obc category.

I had done B.Com from Punjab University, And I had done B.Ed from Patiala University with the subject combination of Economics and commerce. Then i had cleared the exam of CTET currently. After all this I had apply for Kendriya Vidayalaya jobs, but I am not eligible for that jobs because my subjects combinations are not valid, I cannot teach either English or Social Science. Then i decided to do M.A in English, I wanted to confirm either i go for this subject or to do any other thingh to get govt. job. plz suggest me. I m in a big confusion.
