I.E.S exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in a year.

IMPORTANT DATE FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMINATION, 2012
Date of notification:-25.02.2012
Last date of Receipt of form:-26.03.2012(MONDAY)
Date of Exam:- 15.06.2012(FRIDAY)

candidates are not permitted to use calculators for IES exam.

IES exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year.

If you have completed engineering discipline in following departments then you are eligible for IES exam

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.Age relaxation is provide for SC/ST/OBC candidate.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

Number of attempts for IES exam is

For general student it is 4.

And for OBC it is 7 times.

And for SC/ST it is 9 time

You are from ECE department so you are eligible for IES exam.

hello sir am raj..recently i have found the notification of upsc2012 civils ,which is going to be end on 08-03-2012 for online
applications..what i am tryiing ask you is 'Is civils and Ies are same?' i've applied for civils.. Is it comes under IES ?

IES i.e Indian Engineering Services :

This is under the civil services examinations conducted by the union public service commission and this is conducted every year once.

For this post required educational qualifications are you must completed the following any one branch graduation from recognized university and here not required any percentage.
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical engineering.
Electronics and Communication Engineering.
And also required age limit i.e 21-30 years for general category candidates and 21-35 years for SC/ST category candidates and 21-33 years for OBC category candidates.

So you can apply this exam 4 times if you are general category candidates and NO LIMIT for SC/ST category candidates and 7 times for OBC category candidates.

Selection Processor :

The selection processor is based on the written test consists of 2 parts preliminary examination and main examination ,after qualifying the both tests called for personal interview.

For preliminary examination questions from general awareness and general science and etc,but for main examination the questions from your optional subjects.

Apply Processor :

For this exam the apply processor is based on online method,for who to fill the application form at www.upsconline.nic.in.
The application fee for online method i.e 50 and 100 rupees for sapecified remote areas and No fee for Females/SCs/STs/Physically Handicapped only.

The last date of application form submission on 26th march 2012 and exam will be conducted on 15th June'2012 (Friday) & duration will be of 3 days.

YES, you are Eligible to apply for the UPSC conducted IES exams.


Educational Qualifications required to apply for this exams is:

>> BE/BTECH pass in any stream
OR
>> Passed section A and Section B of Instution examinations of Institution of Engineers
Or
>> Graduate Membership Examination of Institute of electronics and Telecommunication Engineers

Age-
Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations


Exam will be held from 28th June 2013
