pleas tell me the pattern and everything of toefl

TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. It is a standardised test which helps you to prove your English Language Proficiency in Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing sections. Details regarding TOEFL examination syllabus and pattern is mentioned below :-

TOEFL Examination Pattern :-
There are four sections in TOEFL examination namely Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing Sections and details about these four sections is mentioned below :-

1. Section - Reading
--> Time Limit - 60–80 minutes
--> Questions - 36–56 questions
--> Tasks - Read 3 or 4 passages from academic texts and answer questions.

2. Section - Listening
--> Time Limit - 60–90 minutes
--> Questions - 34–51 questions
--> Tasks - Listen to lectures, classroom discussions and conversations, then answer questions.

3. Section - Speaking
--> Time Limit - 20 minutes
--> Questions - 6 tasks
--> Tasks - Express an opinion on a familiar topic; speak based on reading and listening tasks.

4.Section - Writing
--> Time Limit - 50 minutes
--> Questions - 2 tasks
--> Tasks - Write essay responses based on reading and listening tasks; support an opinion in writing.

TOEFL Syllabus :-
TOEFL syllabus is nothing but you need to practice those four sections i.e., Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing Sections to score good marks in TOEFL examination.

Syllabus of TOEFL would cover everything in English. You will be tested in,

• Listening.
• Speaking.
• Reading and
• Writing.

You will be given passages, words to speak and essay to write. This is all to test your efficiency in English. Based on the score you get in TOEFL, you will be getting an admission in a good University. Scoring more than 90 marks is said to be good score in TOEFL.

Paper Pattern:

Reading:

3-5 passages from academic texts
Approximately 700 words long Includes multiple-focus passages
12-14 questions for each passage
Time: 60-100 minutes
Score scale: 0-30

Listening:

4-6 lectures, some with classroom discussion
Each 3-5 minutes long, 6 questions each 2-3 conversations
Each 3 minutes long, 5 questions each
Time: 60-90 minutes
Score scale: 0-30

Speaking:

Six tasks
2 independent tasks — express an opinion on a familiar topic
4 integrated tasks — speak based on what is read and heard
Up to 30 seconds to prepare the response
Up to 1 minute to respond
Time: 20 minutes
Score scale: 0-4 points; total of ratings converted to 0-30 score scale

Writing:

Two tasks
1 integrated task — write based on what is read and heard
1 independent task — support an opinion on a topic
Time: 50 minutes
20 minutes for integrated task
30 minutes for independent task

TOEFL stands for Test Of English as Foreign Language. This is an exam which is used to test the ability of a person in Reading, Listening, Writing, Speaking sections of English. So, particularly there is no syllabus for TOEFL exam. It is based on general topics, which we will see in our daily life.

TOEFL Exam pattern:- (120 marks)
This exam will be based on the following sections
1.Reading - 30 marks
2.Writing - 30 marks
3.Listening - 30 marks
4.Speaking - 30 marks
All the sections will deal with the topics, which we will hear in our day today life. But, we should be capable to read and understand these tasks. You should be able to write about those topics with a good vocabulary. And you should score above 70 marks to get admission in a good university. If you are good at English, this will be very easy exam for you. Otherwise, you can join in coaching center to get coaching for TOEFL exam.
