What does a neurosurgeon treat?
Candidates, who have completed their M. Ch in Neurosurgery are called as Neurosurgeons and these professionals treat nervous system, peripheral and cervical disorders. They offer both surgical and non-surgical treatments to patients with problems in their nervous system. This specialty treats spinal tumors and brain tumors inclusive of epilepsy and disc degenerative diseases.
Scope of Neurosurgery in India:
Neurosurgeons in India not only offer treatments to Indian patients, but many foreign patients are also approaching Indian neurosurgeons for treatment mainly because of a lot of delay in getting appointment with a neurosurgeon in their countries. Neurosurgeons in India have proven their dexterity in treating foreign and Indian patients. Until 1980, the neurosurgery and other medical procedure hospitals were run by the Government of India and therefore services were limited to Indian patients alone. However, after 1990s, this trend has changed and many private medical care centers entered this field thereby widening the scope for better treatments at affordable cost. Therefore, the demand for neurosurgeons is higher in India at the present stage, which will also develop further in the near future.
