Mewar University is an autonomous body that was publicized by the Government of Rajasthan through Act No.4 of the 2009 passed by the Assembly of Rajasthan. The university is approved by the University Grants Commission under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act 1956 with the right to confer degrees under section 22 (1) of the UGC Act. The university is promoted by the Mewar Education Society shortly called as MES and it is controlled by the Management Board constituted by the Mewar Education Society. The university holds the pride of being the only university in the district of Chittorgarh in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
Mewar University offers education under faculties like Faculty of Journalism & Mass Communication, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Legal Studies, Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Management and Commerce, Faculty of Computer Science & System Studies and Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
