National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) provides excellent health services to the rural people. The mission of NRHM is designed for National as well as State level. Few of the National level mission of the NRHM are to reduce infant mortality rate, reduce maternal mortality ratio, achieve total fertility rate, reduce malaria mortality reduction rate, eliminate Kala Azar,  reduce filaria/microfilaria rate, reduce dengue mortality rate, reduce Japanese encephalitis mortality rate, increase the facility for cataract operation, reduce leprosy rate, and provide tuberculosis dots services.

The NRHM aims to upgrade Community Health Centers to Indian Public Health Standards, and utilize First Referral Units. The objectives of the NHRM are to provide accessible, affordable, accountable, effective and reliable health care, particularly to the poor and the helpless people in rural areas.

The NHRM also aims to achieve health indicators like Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR), and Total Fertility Rate (TFR) to acceptable levels within the 7 year (2005-2012) period of the Mission

Job Profile:

National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Punjab invites application from eligible and interested candidates for the post of Obstetrician (Female) under maternal health for selected CHCs.

No. of posts: Obstetrician (Female) for District hospital -4, Obstetrician (Female) for FRU (CHCs) - 43

Pay Scale – Obstetrician (Female) for District hospital - Rs. 30000; Obstetrician (Female) for FRU (CHCs) - Rs. 40000/ Rs. 45000/ Rs. 50000 based on the normal, difficult and more difficult areas.
