The THE HINDU – HITACHI Scholarship is a joint venture of the Hitachi Ltd, Tokyo, Japan, and THE HINDU. Selected students are given with technical training in Japan. The training program is given in product fields like Industrial Systems, Transportation Systems, and Power Systems. Duration of the training program is six months. Engineering graduates or B.Sc holders in engineering can attend the interview conducted for selection process. Selected trainees will be given with travel allowance and boarding facilities at free of cost.

National Institute of Technology (NIT), Karnataka offers admission to M.Tech courses in subjects such as Communication Engineering, Industrial Pollution Control, Materials Engineering, Process Metallurgy, and VLSI Design. Engineering graduates or M.Sc degree holders in the concerned subject with a minimum of 60% marks can seek admission on the basis of GATE score. Tuition fee for pursuing the course is Rs. 17,500/- per semester.

TERI University offers M.Sc degree in subjects such as Geo-informatics, Climate Science & Policy, and Economics. Eligibility criteria vary with subjects. For M.Sc in Biotechnology, applicant must be a science graduate (preferably life science) with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks. Selection process is done on the basis of an online entrance test and interview. Tuition fee for pursuing M.Sc in Economics is Rs. 52,000/-per semester and that for M.Sc in Geo-informatics is Rs. 55000/- per semester.

Master degree holders in Statistics or allied subjects can seek admission to Ph.D (Statistics) in Calcutta University. Admission process is done on the basis of a written test and interview. There will be objective model as well as short answer type questions for the written test. Topics like Real Analysis, Probability, Bayesian Analysis, Poisson process, and Multivariate Analysis are asked. Those with NET / SET (Mathematical Sciences) qualification are exempted from the written test.
