Admission to MCA course in Pune University is carried out on the basis of common entrance test conducted at State Level or entrance test carried out by the University itself. In either case, aspirants should send their application to the concerned institution through online or offline mode. National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is conducted for the intake of eligible candidates to the undergraduate courses offered at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) and Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CBS) in University of Mumbai. A total of five sections will be there in this entrance test. General questions will be asked in the first section from a passage related to scientific aspects. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics are the other four sections. Candidates can prepare for this exam by making use of engineering or medical entrance reference books.

National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (formerly known as DOEAAC) offers ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level courses in the areas of Computer Application, Bioinformatics and Hardware Maintenance. Those who have passed 12th standard or equivalent can pursue ‘O’ Level courses where as candidates with graduation or equivalent qualification can  join ‘A’ Level courses. ‘O’ Level courses enable the candidates to find wide array of job opportunities which offer a salary of  Rs. 1, 00, 000/- to Rs. 3, 00, 000/- per annum. ‘A’ Level courses will help them to find more reputed job opportunities with a salary ranging between Rs. 2,00,00/- and Rs. 5,00, 000/- per annum.

Assistant Loco Pilot exam is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board for recruiting candidates to Assistant Loco Pilot post. This exam includes three sections i.e Written Examination, Aptitude Test and Documentation and Candidature Verification. Candidates can attend next stage only after qualifying the previous one. Only objective type questions will be asked in written examination while psychological tests will be there in Aptitude test. Documentation and Candidature Verification section is for verifying the documents of candidates. After Documentation and Candidature Verification, there will be medical fitness test for the candidates. Appointment will be given only if they get qualified in the fitness test.

The salary package offered to Air Force Officers will be based on their rank and branch. While the officers in the flying branch will be paid a gross monthly emolument of Rs 59,466 and in the technical branch Rs 50,716. The officers in ground duty branch will receive a monthly emolument of Rs 48,216. Even before being officially commissioned to the service, trainees in their final year of training at the various Air Force Training Institutions are entitled for a monthly stipend of Rs 21,000.
