The unani system of medicine is one among the different alternative medicinal systems available in India and this system of medicine is known to have originated during the 460-377 BC in the Arabian countries. The system was brought to India by the Persians and Arabians and it is based on humoral theory, which means four bodily fluids, of which each humor leads to a particular temperament in human being. The system makes use of animal products, minerals and plants for curing diseases in such a way that the original humoral constitution of the patient is re-established.
