Peren District is a newly formed district in the state of Nagaland, after being bifurcated from the district of Kohima and it is the eleventh district of the state. The district of Peren is bounded by the District of Kohima to the east, Dimapur District, Karbi Anglong District and Dima Hasao Districtson the north-western and waster parts. The other boundary of the districts is the Tamenglong District of the state of Manipur. The district has the city of Peren as its headquarters and it has some popular rivulets flowing through it. The district is spread over an area of 2300 km2.
