National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology is an independent institute under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. The institute offers courses like B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration and eleven other similar courses of study. Around 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 12 State Government Institutes of Hotel management and 18 Private Institutes of Hotel Management are affiliated to NCHMCT. Admissions to these courses are made on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the institute.
Instructions to be followed while filling the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Entrance Exam forms
Application forms can be collected from the head office of affiliated colleges or from some of the selected banks. Candidates can also download the form from the official website by remitting the fees through gateway payment.
Candidates must be very careful while filling the form. They should handle the form neatly and precisely. They can submit form either through online or offline method. There should be no overwriting. The form should be filled in English only. Candidate should enter his/ her name in capital letters. They should clearly specify the category to which they belong (ie, SC/ ST, OBC or general). Candidates should also affix a recent passport size photograph with white background in the form.
In offline method of submission candidates can directly collect the form from affiliated colleges or from some selected banks by paying the fees. Forms will be available to sale from the first week of December.
In online method of application, candidates can apply online by visiting the official website. They should pay the application fees by taking a demand draft in favor of the college and should include the details of the draft while filling the form.
Important dates for National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Entrance Exam
  • Commencement of online application forms: last week of November, 2012
  • Commencement of offline application forms: first week of December, 2012
  • Results: first week of Week, 2013
Fee structure of National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Entrance Exam
Application fee is around Rs. 1050/-. Apart of admission fees the candidates should pay other fees like tuition fee, IGNOU fee, caution deposit and examination fee. The entire fee amount will be approximately equal to Rs. 37,000/-. Candidates who belong to the backward communities will be given a concession in the fee amount
