East Delhi, which is also called as Trans Yamuna is an administrative district of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and the district is bounded by Gautam Buddha Nagar District of the state of Uttar Pradesh to the South, by the Ghaziabad District of the state of Uttar Pradesh to the east, by the district of North East Delhi to the north and by the River Yamuna on the Western side. The district is spread over an area of 64 km2 and the population density of the district is 22,638 persons per km2. The district of east Delhi is administratively divided into three subdivisions namely Vivek Vihar, Preet Vihar and Gandhi Nagar.
