Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET) is a national level aptitude test conducted by the IITs and IISc. The exam is conducted every year in the month of December for admittance of eligible candidates to the MBA program in IITs and IISc all over the country. The exam is highly competitive and only those well prepared candidates scoring above the cut off will be admitted to the Master of Business Administration course. The candidates those who have completed their B.Tech or M.Sc programme with not less than 60% marks are eligible for attending the Joint Management Entrance Test. Those clearing the entrance test can join the post graduate degree in business administration in IISC Bangalore/ / IIT Kharagpur / IIT Bombay / IIT Delhi / IIT Kanpur IIT Madras / IIT Roorkee. Various other institutes in the country also provide admission to the aspirants to MBA program based on JMET score.

M.Tech in Chemical Engineering is a postgraduate course in engineering. The course is offered in 4 consecutive semesters. Concept of heat transfer and mass transfer are mainly covered under the course study. The course study includes both compulsory subjects as well as elective ones (in the first year). The second year comprises project work as well as seminars.  Bio chemical engineering, thermodynamics, environmental engineering, process control, semi conductor processing, etc are the main topics covered under the course. The master’s level course helps the candidate to gain deep knowledge in the design of heat resisting vessels, furnaces, etc used in chemical reactors.
