Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited is a public sector undertaking owned by Government of India. The headquarter of the corporation is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. There are approximately 20 thousand personnel or employees serving the corporation at present. The corporation is famous for being one of the largest lignite minimg company. The administrative control of the corporation is in hands of Ministry of Coal. Approximately 24 million tonnes of lignite is mined per year for fuel by the corporation. One of the another important function of this corporation is to supply large quantity of sweet water to Chennai. Indian Institute of Technology (Roorkee) was established in the year 1847 as a public university. The institute was formerly named University of Roorkee. The institute is located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. The institute was given the status of being an University in the year 1949. Later it was converted into an IIT in the year 2011. Mr. Analjit Singh is the present Chairman of the institute while Mr. P. Bannerji is the Director of the institute. The institute has an academic staff of total 342 personnel.
