IIT JAM (Biotechnology) comprises of questions from subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology and mathematics. Questions for Chemistry and Biology will be based on the topics covered from 10th till graduation and that for Physics and Mathematics from 10th and 12th. National Institute of Technology offers M.Tech courses in a variety of subjects like Thermal Turbo Machinery, Control System Engineering, Power System Engineering, Air Conditioning and Heat Transfer. Admissions are offered for GATE qualified and sponsored category candidates. For GATE qualified candidates, tuition fee per semester is Rs. 17,500/-. But for sponsored category candidates, the tuition fee amounts to Rs. 25,000/- per semester. Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) is conducted for admission to graduate and business schools in U.S or other English speaking countries. The exam which is conducted in paper based and computer based formats. There have been quite a few revisions in test structure and pattern from 2011 onwards. According to the current pattern, there are questions on verbal ability, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing. In analytical writing, there will be questions related to an issue or argument where as in quantitative reasoning there will be questions on numerical ability, data interpretation, etc. Verbal reasoning includes questions on reading comprehension, text completion and sentence equivalence.
