HSC passed candidates with a minimum of 55% marks can apply for the position of sailor in Indian Navy. Candidates below 19 years can participate in the selection process. Selection of eligible candidates is done through written test, physical fitness test and medical fitness examination. Applications can be submitted only through online method via the web portal of Indian Navy.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEXPO) is conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (annually) for the selection of eligible candidates to 1st year diploma courses. Those who have passed Madhyamik or any other equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physical Science and English as subjects are eligible to apply. JEXPO score can be used to seek admission in reputed polytechnics of West Bengal like Central Calcutta Polytechnic, Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Polytechnic, I.C.V Polytechnic and Kingston Polytechnic College.

Selection process of candidates is done through aptitude test, GD and HR interview. Written test includes 20 questions which should be answered within 25 minutes. Dr. B. C. Roy College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Services is an AICTE approved institution offering UG as well as PG courses in pharmacy. M.Pharm courses are offered with specialization in subjects like Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics and Pharma Cognosy. Students who join the course should pay Rs. 1,36,600/- at the time of admission. Total fee for second, third and fourth semester amounts to Rs. 87,000/-, Rs. 98,000/- and Rs. 88,000/- respectively.
Tamilnadu College of Engineering (TCNE) is an AICTE approved institution running under the sponsorship of Tamilnadu Technical Education Foundation. The institution offers B.E courses in a variety of subjects like Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering. M.E courses are offered in the subjects of structural engineering and computer and communication engineering. Admission to the courses is done on the basis of entrance exams such as TNEA, TANCET, AIEEE/ISEET and CAT.
