Central University of Punjab conducts entrance exam for M.Phil-Ph.D (Development Economics) as objective based test. Questions will be asked from general science and economics. DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) is a scheme introduced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The scheme is meant for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in Centrally Funded Institutions like NIT and IIT.  Admissions are offered for foreign nationals and Indian students studying outside the country. HSC passed candidates with a minimum of 60% marks and enough SAT score are only eligible for DASA.

MG (Mahatma Gandhi) University offers Ph.D programs in a variety of subjects like International Relations, Anthropology, Bio-sciences, Computer Science, Electronics and Management Studies. PG holder in the respective subject with a minimum of 55% marks can apply. Admission to the course is done on the basis of research aptitude test and interview. Marks obtained in qualifying master’s degree are also counted for admission. Those with specific qualifications like MD (Medicine), Master of Philosophy (all disciplines) or NET/SLET/GATE/GPAT are exempted from attending the research aptitude test. They can join the course directly after interview.

National institute of Technology, Srinagar offers M.Tech courses with specialization in areas like Structural Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Electronics & Communication and Mechanical System Design. Admission to these courses is offered through a centralized counseling process. Marks obtained in GATE are primarily counted for admission process. Selected students can join the program by an admission fee amount of Rs. 26280/-. Semester wise fee of Rs. 22,230/-, refundable fee of Rs. 1800/- and nonrefundable fee of Rs. 2250/- are included under this. In subsequent semesters students need to pay semester fee only (Rs. 22,230/-).
