Panchayat Samiti Degree College was established in the year 1989 and it is coming under the jurisdiction of Sambalpur University. Initially, it was temporarily affiliated to Sambalpur University and in the year 1991, it was converted as permanent affiliation. The college is located in a region called Bargaon in the state of Orissa and it is working as an active participant in the advancement of educational atmosphere of the region by offering quality education to the youth under the faculty of arts. The University Grants Commission has recognized the college under Section 12 (b) and 2 (f) in the year 1995.

Courses Offered:

As mentioned earlier, the college is offering education in the faculty of arts and this is the only faculty dealt by the college. Under this faculty, both honors and general UG courses are offered in subjects like history, economics, Oriya, Political Science and Education.

Admission:

The college is admitting students on merit basis according to the marks secured by the students in their 10+2 or equivalent examination.

Vision of the college:

The college aims at enlightening the students with strong moral character, ethics and good educational system in such a way that they would face the ups and downs in their life effectively and act as better citizens for the nation.

Infrastructure & Facilities:

The campus of the college is spread over an area of 5.26 acres of land with separate area for sports and games. The college is also offering library, computer center and sports facilities to the students. The library of the college can accommodate a student capacity of 30 at a time with a collection of over 5000 books and 5 multimedia literatures. The computer center has a collection of six computers, one television and one VCR/VCP.
