Punjab University is one of the leading teaching institutions of India. The History of India is an important paper for all the B.A part II students studying History, as it deals with the most important phase of our country, the history. The subject is highly interesting and deals with a lot of important issues of that time.
Paper description:
The paper deals with the study of various kinds of historical events and their after effects. The subject deals with the complete history of that era, and hence the students are made aware of the fact that happened during that era. The subject also includes study of various wars, various treaties, foundation of kingdoms, ruler and ruling strategies of various emperors etc. The historical study includes detailed study of almost all the aspects of incidents taking place in that era.

Every year, the paper has questions on important dates and events. This is to test the knowledge of the students about the events and how well they remember those crucial years. Questions like, who was Mir Jaffar, and the events of battle of Plessey founds itself almost every year in the paper. Questions like who was the iron man of India, and about ‘harijan’ and various other newspaper coming up in that era is also asked almost every year.
Paper pattern:
The paper is divided in to 4 units and has all together 9 questions. Every unit has 2 questions in it, and question number 1 is independent in the paper. In other words, it does not fall under any unit. Candidates require answering question number 1 and any 4 questions from the remaining 8 questions of the paper. However, one will have to make sure that each question from each unit is answered. Every unit has 2 questions and all are of equal marks.
Marks allotted and time given:
The total mark allotted in the paper is 90 and is to be answered in 3 hours.
