Shantilal Shah Engineering College shortly called as SSEC began its educational journey in the year 1983 and the college is affiliated to Bhavnagar University. It is a government institution formed with the help of donation given by Shree Shantilal Shah whose name was given to the college in his honor.

The functions of these activities at Shantilal Shah Engineering College are explained below:

Knowledge Sharing Club:

This club has been created in the year 2007 for the purpose of students in the branch of Information Technology Engineering. The purpose behind the formation of this club is to offer an opportunity to the students with extra ordinary knowledge in their subject to share their knowledge with their core team. The inspiration for the formation of this club was taken from MIT in the United States of America.

TechoSeva Programme:

Under this programme the college has selected five students from the electrical engineering group and 13 students from the civil engineering group as Technosathi. This programme was launched by the Gujarat Government and the students selected for this programme are working at different areas of the state of Gujarat for which they are paid stipend. The purpose behind the formation of this programme is to offer practical knowledge to the students.

CCC/CCC + Examination Centre:

This centre was created by the college under the Technical Education Board of the Government of Gujarat and the training fee to be paid by the students is Rs. 900 for CCC and Rs. 1800 for CCC+.
