Institute profile: The Indian Institute of Science was born in the year1909. It was established as a research institute in the filed of science and technology. It has a variety of departments and it has a senior and quality faculty. It also has good facilities such as infrastructure, library etc. 

Job profile: The trainees will be required to work in the areas of library and information management, electronic resource management and web design and management. They will have to handle the library automation, database management etc. and also maintain the record of the resources.

Educational Qualifications: A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline followed by M.L.I.Sc or a master’s degree in any discipline with a bachelor’s degree in B.L.I.Sc or associateship in documentation and information science awarded by DRTC / NISCAIR OR a candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in Computer Science or Electronics or Information Technology or a master’s degree in Computer Applications. All the qualifications must be from a recognized educational institute.

No. of posts: There are 13 posts in total which include 11 posts for library and information management and 2 for electronic resource management.

Pay scale: The trainees will be initially given a monthly stipend of Rs7500 in the first year and then an increment in the next year.

Selection process: The candidates will have to appear for an interview. They will be selected keeping their qualification in mind.
