Office productivity tools are one of the papers in Diploma in Computers in office management from Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University, Kota and is coded as DCOM-04.It is one of the five papers. It is a one year course. It is a subjective paper. The paper comes in the second semester of the course.

Paper pattern:

There are a set of subjective questions and one has an option to choose from the given set of questions. Each question carries 14 marks and because of the equal marks distribution one can attempt the questions that one is comfortable with. One needs to attempt five questions out of the seven questions given. Since there is an equal assignment of marks one needs to give equal time to answering them.

Maximum time allotted and maximum marks:

The maximum time allotted for attempting the paper is 3 hours and the maximum marks one can score is 70 marks. There are a total of 5 questions that needs to be answered so one can distribute the time equally as the marks are also equally divided in these questions.

The most frequently asked questions are regarding topics like MS word and questions like alignment, features, mail merge, spread sheets and their features, construction of various types of charts, tables and their usage and construction, DTP and how one can insert pictures with the help of DTP, changing of the font colour, size and other aspects. Other questions involves what is word procession, and its applications, The usage of spreadsheets and the various calculation functions that are available in spreadsheet, short notes on print preview, page setup. Save as, cell reference, paste, macro, thesaurus etc. One basically needs to concentrate on the basics like MS work, Spreadsheet, etc to be able to score good marks.
