South Malabar Gramin Bank came into existence in the year 1976 and the bank is operating from its headquarters in the district of Malappuram in the state of Kerala. The bank was established under the Regional Rural Bank Act 1976.

South Malabar Gramin Bank has invited applications from eligible Indian candidates domiciled in the state of Kerala for the post of Office Assistant (multipurpose) and the details regarding the notification issued by the bank for the same are given below:

Name of the Vacancy: Office Assistant (Multipurpose) (Post Code -04 – Group B) (Clerks)

Number of Vacancies: Total number of vacancies 43, which is divided among the different categories as follows:

SC - 04

OBC – 11

General – 28

Out of the total 43 posts, 1 post each is reserved for OC and HI candidates.

Pay Scale: Candidates appointed for the position of Office Assistant (multipurpose) will come under the pay brand of 7200-400/3-8400-500/3-9900-600/4-12300-700/7-17200-1300/1-18500-800/1-19300

Eligibility requirements:

Educational qualification: Candidates must be degree holders in any discipline with proficiency in Malayalam Language. Candidates with computer skills will be given preference.

Age Requirement: Age requirement for the position of Office Assistant is between 18 and 28. Upper age relaxation is applicable for reserved category candidates.

Selection Procedure:

Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in written test followed by interview. The written test is fixed to be conducted on 20th of November 2011. Application fee:

Candidates will have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.350, which is inclusive of postal charges and SC/ST candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs.50, which is postal charges alone. The fee should be paid through appropriate Challan form that can be obtained from the website of South Gramin Bank at www.smgbank.com and the amount should be credited to account no. 0755201005251and name of the account is South Malabar Gramin Bank Recruitment Fee Account and the candidates copy should be preserved for producing at the time of written exam.

How to apply:

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility requirements, will have to apply online through the website of the bank at www.smgbank.com between 23rd of August and 22nd of September 2011. Once application is made online, the system generated print out should be kept by the candidates for future reference and no other means of application will be accepted.
