What is co-borrower in Corporation Bank Education Loan scheme for MBBS aspirant?

I want to study MBBS with the help of an education loan. I want to apply an education loan in Corporation Bank. I have heard about the education loan of this bank but don’t know about the co-borrower term. Can I know about the co-borrower?

Co-borrower or co-applicant or guarantor, are all same term, if you are talking education loan. Any person from your family, who is earning well and willing to support you, can become co-borrower.

It is like taking responsibility of the education loan, in case you fail to repay due to any circumstances. Banks ask for co-borrower, just to make sure they have security in case of a default.

A co-borrower can be your parent/ spouse/ guardian to get Education Loan in Corporation Bank. Co-borrower should be your closed family member, which should have a steady source of income, and a good record of history.
