Re: Am i eligible to write TET exam after my B.SC computer science with B.ED?
Do not listen to what people are saying. The answer is yes, you are eligible for the Teachers Eligibility Test. Although a lot will depend on your percentage in graduation course.
The Teachers Eligibility Test was introduced first by the central government. The Ministry of Human Resources and Development was worried with the dropping educational standard in the government schools. Therefore it decided to conduct Central Teachers Eligibility Test to recruit the teachers. The CTET is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for various central government funded schools like Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Tibetan Schools etc. Later all the states were also asked by the ministry to either select candidates based on the CTET or conduct their own Teachers Eligibility Test. Almost all the states in India conducts Teachers Eligibility Test. You are free to appear for any of the two exams. The criteria is same for both the exams. Although I should point out that generally CTET is considered to be more difficult than TET by states. Eligibility 1. Nationality: It is only open for Indian nationals. 2. Qualification: Bachelor degree in any discipline. 3. Percentage: 50 percent or more marks. 4. Qualification: You should also have Bachelor of Education degree. 5. Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for CTET. For state TET is varies from state to state. 6. Attempts: No Limit. |
