Is B.Ed compulsory in order to apply and write the TET examination?

Hi, I wish to apply and write the TET examination. I heard that we must have B.Ed to be eligible for TET. Is it true? Can't I apply for TET on the basis of Graduation only? What other similar exam option are available without B.Ed?

There are mainly 2 papers in the TET exam. Eligibility criteria for both the paper is different.
Eligibility to appear for paper 1 :

•Candidates who have passedq 12th / equivalent with 50% + passed/ appearing in the final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

•candidate who have passed 12th with 50% marks + passed/appearing in the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education(B. El. Ed).

•candidates who have passed graduation + passed/appearing in the final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Paper 2 :

•candidates who have passed garaduation + 2 year Diploma course in Elementary Education.

•candidates who have passed graduation with atleast 50% marks + passed/appearing for the first year of B.Ed.

•candidates who have passed 12th with 50% + passed/appearing in the final year of B. El. Ed.

•candidates who have passed/appearing for the final year of 4 year integrated course BA-B. Ed / B. Sc-B. Ed or equivalent.

So you can't apply for TET only on the basis of graduation. If you don't have B. Ed qualification then you have to acquire any of the qualifications mentioned above to appear for TET.
