hi, i am a student of b.tech (IT) in a famous college...some of my friends say the IT field is not that good..is that true??i am quiet interested in research...will this b.tech (IT) course is useful...i am really confused!!

Don't bother about what others think of your's just be confident and keep trust on what is your attitude towards your branch for time being it is IT branch but it is applicable to all the aspects of life.

Its your life right..? No need to change for any other being sake.

I will tell you a simple example see if you are interested in the hardware of our computer and not at all interested in the mechanism of Aeroplane due to our sick luck let us consider that we have too much hype for Aeronautical branch then you have to ultimately design a plane without any interested

Now think what is the fun of doing that branch in which you're not interested at all than discovering in what your interest lies and excelling in that field

It may not have a good time for now but definitely you can create good time for that with your capability and knowledge this should be the ideal attitude for a student like you

Don't at all trust the words of others but don't miss to gather info from them which is the most important but You believe what your inner says to you that is the actual one which can guide in a successful path.

Coming to answer for your simple your query is yes there is a temporary downfall of the field when compared to the emerging and evergreen fields like Civil,Electronics,Electrical,Mechanical etc.., But don't worry at all in this world the most unbeatable thing is "Knowledge" in your work if you correctly do what you are studying then No need of someone placing you in their firm
You can only create employment.

So don't worry about the fame of your branch but only bother about your knowledge and what you are studying from the branch.

This is all about your query as far as I have knowledge

information technology and computer science are the best department of engineering stream.because this trade have lots job.

then there is lots of govt job

1)banking
2)railway
3)NDA
4)IAS
5)school teacher.

etc

if you are interested in private sctor then you can apply for those company.

1.TCS.

2.CTS.

3.WIPRO.

4.Mahendra tech.

5.Infosys.

6.HCL.

etc.

as IT industry is fully depends on the market condition. if the market condition will be very good position then IT job opportunity also will be very good.

tcs, dell, ibm, satyam, infosys, etc these are some software company
which can take you through there campus selection ..........

for more education if you are interested you can do m.tech & you can be a lecture.......

IT is the best branch now a days .
as it is related to the computer field. computer industry is the rapidly growing industry now adays.

Do not be confuse about that.Only remember one thing that is every field is Introduced by university, That is useful for students.Other wise universities not inroduced that course.
Really IT is very good field

Now a days,Every one is communicate with each other that is only possible through this IT field.

Being an engineer, no matter which stream is an achievement by itself. Now, since you are all ready pursuing the course, you really should not hear to what others are saying. IT branch of engineering is relatively a new branch. This is why there are lots of misconceptions about this branch. Every branch will have a good time and a bad time. Take everything in the positive way. There is still a bright future waiting for all the IT engineers.

first things first,its for sure that the actual situation is not like what your friends think.In most of the private colleges its the IT companies which visits the campus.
One difficulty which you face is that when IT company arrive for campus selection other branches are also elligible so there is a tough competition but you not need to worry about that.Since its your branch so you definately have an edge over other counterparts.Just concentrate properly on the basics and there will be no worrys for you.

in this world their is no bad or good ,its like the way we treat and way we use it .

If it is bad the university only doesnt keep this type of branch

This is like basics for computer engineers its professional

Anybody it may be the base should be their ,so for IT professional also .

the people around you may criticize but they dont know this .

so dont worry you many options and one more we IT companies not as cse companies OR something else

IT companies dont have these caste feeling ,you just need to have talent you may be from any stream .
