Which branch is better for GATE, either EC branch or EI branch? I'm a student in NIT(Rourkela) in 3rd year with 9.46 CG
sir
I am a student at NIT,Rourkela in 3rd yr,in Electronics and Instrumentation branch. As far as my knowledge from this yr onwards PSUs are not likely to come, they will select from GATE.As we have got our courses in our btech we can sit for both EC and IN (EI) paper in GATE.We have been taught both subjects. In EC no. of appearing students is 1lakh30000 bt in EI it is only 20000(as from last yr). So i am confused whether to sit in EC branch or EI branch in GATE.So pls answer me which branch to sit in and along with that which branch will be good nd more prospective for higher studies in GATE in a good institute. My CG is 9.46 nd currently I am 2nd in my branch. So just suggest me what to do and how to prepare my plans for future. |

hii friend....
i will sugess you not to look at these figures at this time..go with the one which you think as your best familier.because if you tried the best one and got a seat in IIT then its worth than anything..both the subjects you mentioned are in good scope.so get some personal help from your mind and go with that...and if i sugess a/c to my experience i will mention EI...goodluck |

Quote:
you can appear for GATE in your final year or after your b.tech. Syllabus for GATE is same as your b.tech syllabus, ( mainly upto 6th semester ) So better take your studies seriously. Exact syllabus you can get from internet. Once you have done enough reading, try to solve MCQ mock papers given in GATE book by GK Publication. All the best |
