Re: Which branch to choose in engineering college
If you don't have any particular interest then I would recommend Electronics and Communications Engineering to you. The good thing about ECE is that it offers you career is various fields and does not restrict you to a particular one.
To pursue B.Tech in Electronics and Communications, you will have to appear for entrance exams like ISEET. The eligibility criteria to appear for ISEET is mentioned below. Eligibility ISEET 1. Must have completed 12th with PCM. 2. Minimum of 40 percent marks in 12th board. Once you have completed the 4 years long graduation in Electronics and Communication Engineering, there will be plenty of options for you. However it would depend largely on your performance in Engineering course as well 10th and 12th board. Public Sector Undertaking You will have the option to apply for government as well private jobs. In government sector the most popular choice is job in Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). A PSU is a company which is controlled by the central/state government. To get job in PSU company, you will have to appear for entrance exam. Each PSU conducts a separate entrance exam. You must meet the criteria mentioned below to appear for PSU exams. Eligibility 1. You should be Indian citizen. 2. A B.Tech degree from a recognized university. 3. Minimum of 60 percent marks. 4. There should be no pending backlogs. 5. A valid GATE score may be required at the time of interview. 6. The age limit is 21 to 30 years. 7. There is some relaxation in age limit for OBC/ST/SC as per government rules. List of PSU ISRO BSNL MTNL ECIL GAIL SAIL HAL DRDO BPCL HPCL IOCL ONGC Coal India BEL BHEL NTPC Information Technology If you have any interest in making career in IT industry then this could be made possible through degree in electronics and communication engineering. Leading IT companies in India hire large number of ECE graduates. Infosys is one such example. For job in IT company you must maintain minimum of 60 percent marks throughout the academic career. Anything less than this would hamper your chances of working in top IT company. Infosys Microsoft IBM DELL Acer HP Wipro Tech Mahindra HCL Accenture Yahoo Satyam Telecom The telecommunication sector of India also hires ECE graduates. Since India has one of the largest mobile network in the world, the requiement of ECE graduates is also very high. You can work in the following companies. BSNL MTNL Bharti Airtel Vodafone Idea Cellular Aircel MTS Reliance Communications Tata Tele |

Re: Which branch to choose in engineering college
Quote:
Engineering is a full time graduation course which can be done by students after they pass Class 12th Higher Secondary Examination.. The duration of the course is 4 years. Now there are many branches which are available in the market, but the main ones are : ECE EEE ME CE CSE IT Out of these, I would prefer that you take up CSE/IT. This is because the Computers and IT Sector is a boom in the market. So you will find HUGE SCOPE ONCE YOU ARE DONE WITH IT.. Otherwise if you want to go in the core sector, go for the EEE, ME, CE ! These are the 3 most ever green branches in the engineering line and would never let you down.. All the best Regards RANJEET |
