Can a doctor be an Astronaut at ISRO?

Can I become an Astronaut at ISRO after completing my MBBS degree? I'm about to complete my MBBS degree from Bangalore only. I'm not interested in practicing as a Doctor. So, is MBBS valid and acceptable for becoming Astronaut?

The minimum eligibility criteria required to become an Astronaut at ISRO is Graduation in biological science,Engineering, physical science or mathematics with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university.

If you have diploma or degree in flying than it would be an added advantage.

The salary of an Astronaut ranges from Rs.39,60,000 to Rs.10,119,620 per year.

ISRO (*Indian Space Research Organisation) is not sending astronauts into space right now though it might do so some time in the future. So, your child will have to apply to any other space agency such as the NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) for selection to be trained as an astronaut.
