Hi, I am Akash Dongre and presently pursuing my 4th and final year of B.Sc Nursing degree course from a regular college and I was born in the year 1996. Can I get in to Merchant Navy with a degree in Nursing? Is yes, then in which department of Merchant Navy would I'll get job and how can I apply for that post?

No, you can't get recruited into Merchant Navy through B.Sc. Nursing degree.

To be eligible for getting entry into Merchant Navy, you should have completed anyone of the following course.

• B.Tech Marine Engineering
• B.E Marine Engineering
• B.Sc Nautical Science
• M.E Marine Engineering
• B.Tech Naval Architecture and Ship Building
• Diploma in Nautical Science
• MBA Shipping and Logistics

You can pursue these courses from notable marine institutes all over India. I have mentioned below few of them:

Since, you have completed B.Sc. in Nursing which is a bachelor degree so you can apply for CDS exam that is conducted by UPSC. Through CDS exam, you can get any post into Indian Navy but not Merchant Navy.
