i am studyin in nios and gonna give my exams in april this year.my subjects are business,economics,painting,word processing,home science and english......wat stream can i chose after passing y exams..?????

many universities dont accept the NIOS diploma so you dont have many choices..first try to ascertain which university allows NIOS diploma holders for admisson and accordingly you may choose either b.com or ba (economics), whatever you feel is more interesting to you

after finishing nios you can go into management field ... you can go for mba in a good bschool

NIOS certification is accepted by all State board from 2010 onwards. Maharashtra state boards were last to join the bandwagon. Pune state board has tied up with NIOS recently to start NIOS open school facility within Pune board. Ooen schooling was looked down upon so far but a time has come to look at the educational sharks that we have at state level who charge huge fees and dish out little quality education, if at all. NIOS is also for academically briilliant students and not just for school dropouts or people with various physical or mental disabilities. It is a advance concept in many senses and if you go through there online syllabus for different subject and compare with state board syllabus you will know the quality put into it. The are light years ahead as far as my reading goes. I am shifting my son from State board to NIOS for Xii standard. NIOS certification is accepted by all major universities for admission to undergraduate programs within India and abroad. In addition one can throw out 2 additional subjects that are pushed down a student's throat by the state board like second language and environmental education which is a true farce. In addition, NIOS gives you wide variety of subjects, On-demand Examination facility, Changing of any subject mid stream, and complete course material along, the maximum cost of everything (books included) come to Rs 1600 approx if you choose seven subjects. If you stick to only 5 subjects which is minimum required, it gets reduced to about thousand rupees. It is even less for girls and handicapped people. No paying capitation fees under the table, facing sub standard teachers, and paying hefty fees. Is not this wonderful? Cheers to HRD Ministry and Kapil Sibal. Hope parents stop running after the archaic state boards and look at NIOS. The Syllabus is similar to CBSE too and constantly updated with changing requirements. Hope this helps.

Yes you can, provided you select the subjects as required by the University that you are planning to apply to.. Infact you could apply to IIT. Please log on to (www.nos.org) for further info, infact you can get the number of the nearest contact center and get more information..
