No, you need not have mathematics in bachelor's degree to apply for banking examination. IBPS stands for Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection. It conducts common written examination for post of clerk and probationary officer in more than twenty nationalized bank.

The eligibility criteria for banking job is that candidate must have done bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university. Final year graduation candidates can also apply for bank jobs.

No, it is not a compulsion that a candidate must have studied mathematics at graduation level but yes it is important that a candidate must have studied mathematics up to the 10th standard because the mathematics level would be of 10th standard consisting of numerical ability and reasoning questions.

So don't be afraid of mathematics subject just do your best for numerical ability and reasoning ability because this just depends upon your IQ level and your practice. Practice more questions of 10th standard. Make your calculations stronger.

No. Mathematics should not be a compulsory subject for the candidates in the Graduation course in order to be eligible for Banking Exams.

One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university to be eligible for Banking Exams.

The entry level positions in various banks are
-Clerical positions
-Probationary Officers

Graduation is the minimum academic qualification required to be eligible to apply for both these positions.

Though Mathematics is not compulsory subject, one should have some good amount of subject knowledge in Mathematics because there would be Aptitude subject for all Bank Exams which need quick calculations.

As per age criteria,
One should be in the age group of 20-28 years to be eligible for Clerk Exams
and in the age group of 20-30 years to be eligible for PO Exams.

Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category and upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category.

IBPS will conduct the common written exams separately for the recruitment of these positions on behalf of all public sectors.

If you have not completed your Graduation, I suggest you to start of your preparation for Bank Exams immediately as there is huge competition for Bank Jobs.

Moreover some banks also recruit candidates at intermediate level for the post of clerks.

What is most important that you must have knowledge of mathematics subject up to the level of 10th class because the questions will be there of reasoning ability and numerical ability.
