Hi, for a student who has finished 10th from State Board is eligible to study 11th & 12th either from CBSE Board or ISC Board as a private candidate? And, which Board would be much better between CBSE and ISC? Also, let me know procedure to apply for 11th as a private candidate?

Yes, you can complete 11th and 12th standard as a Private candidate from any Board (State Board or CBSE Board or ISC/ICSE Board).

Both the CBSE and ISC Board are decent Board to study for 11th and 12th standard with updated curriculum as per government norms. You can take admission in any Board as per your interest.

However, you will find a good number of schools for CBSE Board than ICSE Board. Because, most of the schools follow CBSE curriculm. Even KV i.e. Kendriya Vidyalaya and Navodaya Vidyalaya follows CBSE.

While limited number of schools follow ICSE Board in a particular city. Also, it is noticed that fees in ICSE Board schools are little higher than CBSE Board schools.

To get admission as a Private candidate, you can directly visit admission office of that particular school. Ask for admission form, fill it and submit it with relevant documents. Another option to get information is to visit Regional Board Office.
