Eligibility for EAMCET 2017 exam


I was born in April 21st, 2000. I am going to appear in Eamcet exam in the year 2017 presently, i have completed my first year boards. Am i eligible to write 2017 Eamcet exam?

Yes, you are eligible for EAMCET exam 2017.

EAMCET stands for Engineering, Agriculture and Medical common entrance test held by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.

Those candidates who have completed 12th standard with above 50% marks from a recognized university with PCM or PCB subject are eligible for EAMCET 2017 exam.

Your age should be above 16 .

EAMCET or Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test is an entrance exam conducted by JNTU, Hyderabad for admission to various colleges.

If you are appearing for EAMCET in 2017, then you are eligible to appear for this exam. Because, you must have attained at least 17 years of age to appear for this exam.

But, if you wish to apply for EAMCET 2016, then you cannot apply as you are not eligible.


EAMCET 2016 exam will be commenced on 11 September 2016.
Exam Timing: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Eligibility to appear in EAMCET exam
  • Candidate must have secured at least 45% marks in 10+2 (PCM).
  • 5% relaxation is given to reserved category candidates.
  • Candidates must have completed at least 17 years of age on 31st December.

Exam Pattern of EAMCET 2016 is mentioned below:
Total of 160 objective type questions with 1 mark each.
Duration of Exam: 3 hours
40 questions from Physics,
40 questions from Chemistry,
80 questions from Mathematics

EAMCET stands for Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test. It is a State level common entrance test JNTUH and JNTUK for offering admissions to interested candidates in Undergraduate Professional courses in Government and Private colleges of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Eligibility criteria required to appear in EAMCET 2017 examination is stated below :-

=> You should have passed Intermediate or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Biology and English subjects from Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana Board of Intermediate Education or from any Government recognised board.

=> You should be at least 16 years as on 31st December, 2017 to be eligible to appear in EAMCET 2017 examination..

As per the information you have provided in your query, your DOB was April 21st 2000, that means, you will be 17 years as on April 21st 2017, so, you are eligible to write EAMCET 2017 examination.

As, you are pursuing in first year of board (11th std) you are not eligible to appear for entrance examination.

The required eligibility to appear for examination is candidate must have passed or pursuing in 10+2 from recognised board.

The age limit is 16 years for Pharmacy, Engineering courses, no maximum age limit, where as for B.Tech (Dairy, Ag. etc ) have minimum age limit is 17 years where as maximum age limit is 22 years.

The candidate must have minimum 45% in 10+2 from recognised board relaxation for reserved category.

So, you can appear for entrance examination next year.
