Re: Entrance exams available to study MBBS in reputed colleges of Odisha?
MBBS refers to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and it is a professional bachelor degree course after pursuing which one head towards becoming a doctor.
Further, the minimum education required to pursue the same degree course is a Class 12th in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as main subjects with at least 50% marks (or 40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) from a recognized board of education. Also, since 2016 for seeking admission in any medical college of India except AIIMS and JIPMER, you are required to qualify NEET ( National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ) held by NTA. So, for pursuing MBBS degree course from a medical college in Odisha, you are required to qualify NEET and for details regarding NEET, you can refer to the link www.ntaneet.nic.in. |

There is no separate examination for admission in MBBS course by various institutes.
NEET is conducted for admission in the MBBS, BDS and other medical course. So, you have to appear and qualify in the examination for admission in the course in different institutes across India. The common eligibility to appear for the examination is that candidate must have passed 12th in PCB with minimum 50% aggregate. |

1. Now, admission to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is done on basis of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. NEET is conducted by National Testing Agency for admission in MBBS and BDS courses.
2. State government colleges also have to take admission on basis of NEET scorecard and rank. You can apply for NEET exam if you have done 12th from a recognized board with PCM subjects and secured minimum of 50% marks. |
