How can a female 12th Commerce qualified candidate join Merchant Navy?
Hi, I am a female candidate and I have recently completed my 12th Board exams from Commerce stream. Am I eligible to join Merchant Navy? If yes, then how can I join? Do I need to write any entrance exam? And, if I am not eligible then what should I do further to be eligible to join Merchant Navy?

Yes, girls are eligible to join Merchant Navy after 12th. The required eligibility criteria are given below:-
Candidate must have passed 12th in science stream from a recognised board. The minimum percentage required in 12th class is 60%. The age of Candidate should not be greater than 20 years. Candidates should be unmarried . |

Girls are eligible for Merchant Navy only after graduation with minimum 55% aggregate. After completing graduation you have to crack UPSC examination, then after you will join Merchant Navy.
Selection procedure:- Written Exam Physical Test Medical Test Personal Interview Age limit is between 16 to 25 years. Only unmarried male and female candidates can apply for merchant navy. |
