How can I become an IPS officer? Names of some books which I should refer?
sir,I have just passed 10th.I want to become an IPS officer.I am thinking of taking arts.so that i can study of IPSand college both side by side.is it necessary to join classes from now or study by books.sir,will you please tell me names of some books to study,and where it would get.sir,please reply as soon as possible.thank you.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service. This exam conducted by the union public service commission every year. Eligibility criteria: The candidate should be completed graduation from any recognized university. There is no minimum percentage of marks required to eligible this exam. The final year pursuign candidates are also eligible for this exam. The age limit should be between 21 to 30 years. The upper age relaxation is applicable. 3 years age relaxation for the obc candidates. 5 years age relaxation for the sc/st candidates. Both male and female candidates are eligible for this exam. The candidate should be citizen of india. For becoming an IPS officer you will have to give Civil service examination. These exams are conducted by UPSC every year. But first of all you will have to complete your graduation. you have a long way to go yet. You will have to clear three stages then 1)Preliminary exam It consists of 2 papers. Paper 1 is of general studies of 150 Marks and paper 2 is of 300 marks from an optional subject of you choice. the time allotted for both the papers will be 2 hours. 2)Main Exams After qualifying the Preliminary exam you will have to give the main Exams Of consists of 9 papers. there will be 2 papers of General studies , 1 English paper and 1 essay writing paper. there will be some options subjects you will have to choose 2 subjects out of them and for each subject 2 papers will also be there. there will also be a paper of the language as chosen by you. The duration of each paper is 3 hours. 3)Interview After clearing the main exams candidates are called for an interview. The interview holds a weighage of 300 marks. After interview all the marks of preliminary exam, main exam and interview are totaled and then selection takes place. The submission of application forms usually starts in february , the prelims are held in May and final exams in October you should start with NCERT books of class 11 and 12 and also for currents affairs you should keep studying news papers.
