After the M.Sc in microbiology you can join the defense after qualifying the exam of the C.D.S.(Combined Defense Services) which is conducted every year for all the three wings in defense-

Indian Air Force
Indian Army
Indian Navy

Eligibility for C.D.S. is-

>> Candidate should be a graduate person and should be Indian citizen.

>> Candidates having the physics and mathematics in graduation can apply for the Navy and Air Force wings but the candidates not have these two subjects in graduation can apply only for the Army wing.

>> Candidate must be physically fit and having the minimum eye sight of 6/6 and unmarried male and female candidates can apply for this exam.

>> Candidate must fall in the age criteria of the 19-22 years for the Air force and 19-23 years for navy and 19-24 years for army wing and the relaxation is given 3 years to OBC candidates and 5 years for the SC/ST candidates.

NOTE - The exam is conducted twice a years.
