The very basic selection for becoming an IAS officer is on the basis of the Civil Service exams. This is mainly conducted by the UPSC. You need to have completed the minimum graduation in any discipline to enter in to this course. Also those who are over 30 years cannot apply for the exam. On the basis of the written exam you will be selected for interview. The candidates who belong to the general category can attempt the IAS exam 4 times.

IAS is a civil service exam conducted by UPSC everyyear.

The minimum educational qualification for the exam is a graduate in any stream from any recognized university.
Final year students of graduation are also eligible to apply.

The age should be between 21 years and 30 years. the maximum age limit for OBC is 33 years, and Sc/St its 35 years.

You can attempt 4 times for IAS. and 7 times for OBC and unlimited for SC/ST candidates.

You can apply online if you are eligible.

The notification has not published in the website about IAS. But it will publish very soon.

So start practicing for IAS. You can join a coaching center also.

And keep visiting the official website for any update.

Graduates in any discipline are eligible to appear for IAS exam.

Hence you must not worry about the eligibility criteria and start preparing for IAS exams.
But your age should be according to the IAS rules and regulations.

The age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are a general category candidate.
5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC is given according to category.

The number of attempts are limited for General and OBC category . For General Number of attempts are 4 and number of attempts for OBC is 7.

For SC/ST there is not such limit in number of attempts means they can appear till their age limit exceeds.
