Re: How to get admission for IAS or UPSC? Qualification required?
The very basic selection for becoming an IAS officer is on the basis of the Civil Service exams. This is mainly conducted by the UPSC. You need to have completed the minimum graduation in any discipline to enter in to this course. Also those who are over 30 years cannot apply for the exam. On the basis of the written exam you will be selected for interview. The candidates who belong to the general category can attempt the IAS exam 4 times.

Re: How to get admission for IAS or UPSC? Qualification required?
Graduates in any discipline are eligible to appear for IAS exam.
Hence you must not worry about the eligibility criteria and start preparing for IAS exams. But your age should be according to the IAS rules and regulations. The age should be between 21 to 30 years if you are a general category candidate. 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC is given according to category. The number of attempts are limited for General and OBC category . For General Number of attempts are 4 and number of attempts for OBC is 7. For SC/ST there is not such limit in number of attempts means they can appear till their age limit exceeds. For more information download the attachment. |
