There are many posts available in the government field for B.Tech students. Notifications about various vacancies available in different government departments will be published in employment news papers, government job portals, official websites etc. You can apply on that basis. You can apply in Railways for technical posts like Assistant engineer, section engineer etc. If interested to join defense services, you can apply for the same. Also some of the other major departments where in you can apply are – civil services, public sector banks etc. You should attend written examination so as to get selection for jobs in each of these departments.

Hi

Each company such as BHEL, IOCL, NTPC, etc comes up with different number of vacancies each year.
But in total vacancy in government PSU would be more then 1200.
So if you score good marks in GATE exam, you have decent chance to get into one or the other government PSU.
Various other government jobs vacancy keep popping up in online portal/journals and newspaper. Check them regularly
